PetSmart Charities, Inc. funds spay/neuter initiatives and other innovative new programs that use technology, creativity and compassion to reduce homeless pet overpopulation. PetSmart Charities receives the highest rating of four stars from Charity Navigator because they manage their finances in a highly efficient and effective manner. In 2008, 89 cents of every dollar raised by PetSmart Charities went to the more than 3,000 animal welfare agencies we support.
Spay/Neuter Initiatives

Support the operation of our transport program which picks up dogs from overcrowded shelters in the Midwest, Northeast and Great Plains and safely delivers them to shelters with a need for more adoptable dogs. The program also provides supportive spay/neuter grants to participation communities with high pet overpopulation challenges.
